Our Chapter

On June 7, 2007, Lauren Moore was called by the Holy Spirit to Delta Psi Epsilon Christian Sorority, Inc. Pursuing this calling, she set out to bring this blessed sisterhood to Chicago. She connected with other women who had expressed interest. They began to spread the word about what they were trying to accomplish to other women of God who hadn't ever heard of Delta Psi Epsilon.

On October 21, 2007, Sorors Lauren Moore, Christal James-Walker, and Veronica Jenkins were inducted into Delta Psi Epsilon Christian Sorority, Inc. as D.I.V.I.N.E. B.Y. D.E.S.I.G.N. They became the founding line of the Chicago City-Wide Colony.

On August 9, 2008, less than a year later, four more women were welcomed into this blessed sisterhood. The next day, Sunday, August 10, 2008, these seven women chartered what is now the Alpha Omega Chapter of Delta Psi Epsilon Christian Sorority, Inc.

Our Sorority

Delta Psi Epsilon Christian Sorority, Inc. was founded on January 16, 1999, by Sorors Carla Griffith, Vila-Sheree Watson and Nicole Gardner. Carla, Vila-Sheree and Nicole met each other as a result of being apart of a local, Christian club at Oakwood University. This sorority was formed to give women an opportunity to become apart of a Greek-lettered organization, but at the same time hold fast to their Christian values. Many strides were taken through the years to further cement and solidify the organization before becoming national.

In 2000, Delta Psi Epsilon Christian Sorority became incorporated. February of 2004, the sorority took in its first members. These 7 women are known as the Seven Heavenly Virtues. These are Sonya Archie, Cheryl Plaster-Vinson, Rayquisha Timmons, LaTonya Sparks-Hinton, Maritza Barnes, Mary Watson and Griena Knight-Davis.

"Write the vision and engrave it so plainly upon tablets that everyone who passes may be able to read it easily and quickly as he hastens by. For the vision is yet for an appointed time and it hastens to the end (fulfillment); it will not deceive or disappoint. Though it tarry, wait (earnestly) for it, because it will surely come; it will not be behindhand on its appointed date."

—Habakkuk 2:2 (Amplified Bible)
